Distressed assets - Non-performing loans

Avistar has experience in bad debts/non-performing loans since 2010. Having the expertise of corporate finance and understanding the needs of medium and large corporate business, we began with the projects of restructuring of large portfolios of corporate business, banks and holdings. Shortly it became clear that often this product does not have the desired effect for business, and solutions that are more radical are needed. Therefore, as soon as private banks had the legal opportunity to sell loans at a discount, we were one of the first players to start structuring and doing that, having a financial license for such activity.

Gradually, we became one of the leaders in the market, and began to actively invest in such positions. A lot of positions were bought through ProZorro.Sale, online state auction platform for sale of the Deposit Guarantee Fund. We have often been a local partner of Western hedge funds and European players in this market, repeatedly winning open tenders organized by international banks. Our partners over the years have included many international financial players and banks, including Erste Bank, Unicredit Bank, EBRD, Intesa San Paolo, the American hedge fund Argentum Creek Partners and APS Holding, Czech Republic. Avistar now works and invests in large positions mainly with foreign investors who need local expertise, experience and are interested in a local partner with whom they can minimize risks, accelerate project implementation and increase their profitability.
